Plans for Jersey*
I decided to combine 2 new colours with the yarn from the blanket, turquoise and purple :) because they are colours that I like but are also representative of a beanie my grandma knitted for me.

I decided to do the ribbing of the entire jersey in purple and everything else multi-coloured :)
I bought a size 8 and 10 mm knitting needles, everybody says they are too small to knit the entire jersey with, but I will manage !
(:
My first attempt at ribbing :) purple and grey
I have decided to combine 2 colours for each row of my design, images will be seen later !
I kind of forgot how to do ribbing, but thanks to my lovely peers that helped me remember :)

My Balls of Yarn !! All ready to be knit :)

Project :)

I, Amber Jade Hendricks, a Surface Design student, received a project on knitting :)
This project requires us to knit a garment, preferably a jersey, with yarn that we will make ourselves/ reusing yarn.
This garment must have meaning and symbolism.

My inspiration for my garment is my grandma (:
She knitted many things for my sister and I, such as jerseys, scarves, beanies and gloves ! My grandma is also the person who taught me how to knit and crotchet. Plus some of the things she has knitted for me, I still wear today and things that she knitted before my time that nobody wears anymore, is worn by my sister and me. So its also the tradition of garments getting passed down and so on. She is my perfect inspiration !

Because of the fact that I wouldn't want to unravel her creations, I went to a charity store in town called Nazareth House and found a knitted blanket that only cost me R10 (:
So step 1: Unravelling my yarn !!
